Course Summary
The CPCS (A17C) - Telescopic Handler (All Sizes Excluding Slew) course provides a basic training and assessment in how to operate and maintain telescopic handlers. Booking onto our CPCS course will allow the attendee to competently and safely operate the machine and pass the CPCS Telescopic Handler training course Theory and Practical Tests.
Course Details
- Name and explain principle components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
- Use of the operator’s handbook and go through relevant regulations and legislation
- Preparing the machine for travel
- Travelling the machine over different terrain including rough, undulating ground
- Follow given signals and instructions when travelling and manoeuvring with and without loads
- Lift and remove various loads up to full extension and working height of the telehandler
- Travel with and place various suspended loads at given locations Inc. a vehicle bed and at height
- List different types of lifting accessories and attachments compatible with telescopic handlers and suspended loads
- Explain how stability is affected by travelling with a raised boom and a suspended load (both regular and irregular)
- Maintain safe and tidy working areas
- Carry out shut down and securing procedures
- Explain the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting
